O.P. ROCKWELL BRINGS NEW COCKTAIL LOUNGE & MUSIC HALL TO PARK CITY
Park City, UT – Main Street Park City is now home to O.P. Rockwell, a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge and live music venue. The newly renovated bar is announcing new nationally touring musical acts each week.
Park City locals Scott Thomson and Craig Eddins have teamed up with The State Room owners Darin Piccoli and Chris Mautz in the venture that is committed to bringing quality live music and craft cocktails to Main Street.
“We have always wanted fill this niche in town,” says Thomson. “When I went to college in Boulder we had the Fox Theater and the Boulder Theater, and O.P. Rockwell fills that same genre here for music lovers,” he adds.
Co-owner Chris Mautz agrees, “We have long wanted to be a part of this community, and this venue fits our core values for live music. The comfortable lounge, quality sound system and craft cocktails are a combination our discerning music fans are after,” he says.
Much of the renovation of the venue was focused on preserving the history of the building by unearthing original rock walls, exposing beams, adding reclaimed barn wood finishes and Edison blub and vintage chandelier lighting.
The historic location has truly returned to its original roots. When it first opened in 1889, it debuted as a dance hall.
O.P. Rockwell’s cocktail lounge is open seven nights a week, with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets and concert calendar information is online at www.oprockwell.com.
